UF IFAS Plant Diagnostics Clinic

Akel, Logan, Shafer was commissioned by the Institute for Food and Agricultural Science to design a research laboratory to investigate the causes of and cures for various plant diseases.  This diagnostic laboratory also houses a diagnostic teaching lab, clean room and research laboratory space, conference facilities, and a classroom facility to be used by PhD candidates for independent research.

It is also one of the few plant diagnostic laboratories in the country with containment facilities equipped to process regulated pathogens that are considered threats if released.  This project has received US Green Building Council LEED® certification.
